Review: Od Port Portals

IMG_7048

After being picked up from Palma De Mallorca airport by the hotels driver in a Porsche, after a 25 minute drive, we arrived to a scenic view. We managed to get a rather speedy check in, which was also early (thank you) and our luggage taken to our room. Just to mention the hotel offers complimentary transfers for anyone who books the junior suite rooms, any other room the transfer is subject to charge.

Location

The Od Port Portals hotel is situated in a beautiful part of Mallorca named Portals Nous. The hotel is around a 5-10 minute walk to the harbour and to the beach. Down by the port there are many restaurants, shops and bars to full fill a relaxing evening. The hotel itself is only a 15 minute drive down to the party town of Magaluf which is around 10 euros one way. So if you fancy a night out to dance or to drink a few cocktails it would only be a taxi journey away. Whilst at the hotel you must try their roof top bar, which they offer a sit down menu or just to chill and have a few drinks. Many evenings they have events with different DJ’s so be sure to check the posters around the hotel to see what’s going on – or contact reception as they will be happy to help.

The roof top bar was a beautiful place to watch the sunset, to chat and listen to the relaxing tunes. The bar staff are always chatty and happy to have a conversation and give some recommendations on the location if you ask.

Swimming Pool

The hotel’s swimming pool area, was quite small but a perfect fit for the style of the hotel. There were towels laid out on the sunbed every morning so you do not need to take any of your own, (yes that means more suitcase space) and if you needed another one, reception would be happy to help. With the hot weather the sun warms the pool up to a beautiful temperature – enough to cool to down but not to make you freeze. There is also a pool side bar to get your drink refreshments, a downstairs restaurant for breakfast and lunch and a shop just around the corner for ice cream. Everything you need for a relaxing day.

The Room

We stayed in a deluxe double room. It was spacious, clean and had lots of storage space which I loved. The double mirror and sink made it so much easier to get ready and was a lovely unique touch. The mini fridge was at an extra charge however, the first round of all the drinks were complimentary it was the top ups that were extra. The bedding and towels were changed daily, and we got a complimentary robe and a pair of slippers to wear. YES!

The view from our balcony was beautiful in every direction your looked. Straight ahead you could see restaurants, other hotels and the beach. From below you can see a birds eye view of the swimming pool and dining area which is beautiful.

My time with my friend visiting Od Port Portals was lovely and I would recommend it for couples, friends or adults wanting a break. The peace and quite was a dream.

Looks like a lovely hotel and close enough to Maguluf if you want to go without feeling like it’s too much being in the town x

Really like the look of this hotel. And I love rooftop bars; nothing better than relaxing with a cocktail looking out over an incredible view.
